Claims Summary Management

OVERVIEW

During my time at LTIMindtree, I had the opportunity to work as the Lead UX Associate for the Claims Management Dashboard, an analytical tool under their Blue[i] suite of digital solutions.

Marsh is a global leader in insurance broking and risk management. They help clients anticipate, quantify and understand the range of the risks they face.

By streamlining the claims management process, this tool offers businesses proactive support, optimized claim outcomes and industry insights to effectively manage costs and reduce risk exposure. This comprehensive approach, companies can quickly resolve issues, resume operations promptly, and minimize the financial consequences.

MY ROLE

I was mainly responsible for redesigning the B2B2C Claims reports dashboard

Redesign the navigation and content flow to ensure easy access of information and a smooth user flow.

Create a design system for data visualisations to help maintain brand consistency and provide guidelines for incorporating brand elements and visual styles into the dashboard design

Designed and prototyped 60+ screens for different claim types like Property, Casualty and FINPRO (Financial & Professional Liability)

Conducted usability tests of the developed screens to ensure consistency and provide feedback to the developers to deliver optimal user experience

Collaborate with the development team, product owners and scrum master to deliver screens in 2 week sprints in an agile environment

USER ROLES

While there are multiple stakeholders who have access to this tool the Marsh Admin and superadmin have the authority to give access to the other Claims dashboards.

HIGHLIGHTS

Clear navigation

Improved the usability and simplified the user experience by redesigning navigation with a consistent and cohesive approach, while maintaining a clear visual hierarchy.

Interactive Dasboards

Crafted interactive elements such as filters, drill-downs and tooltips to allow the users customize their views by selecting specific data and adjusting parameters enabling them to tailor the dashboard to their unique preferences and needs, enhancing usability and satisfaction.

Drill down views to get deeper insights

Filters to adjust the data parameters

Dropdowns and tooltips to customise the charts

FINPRO

I played a key role in developing the user interface for FINPRO, a fresh claim category centered around Financial & Professional Liability. It assists companies in assessing and managing risks across different areas to make informed decisions to enhance business resilience and mitigate financial and reputational consequences.

PROTOTYPE

Once the screens were designed I would upload them onto invision and create the prototype to share with the team for development and feedback.

CORE LESSONS

UX design team of one

As a solo designer on the team I understood the importance of explaining myself visually. Everytime a new feature or functionality was required I would present multiple options to help them understand with pointers on what I believe would be a good solution as a UX designer.

Collaboration

This was the first project I collaborated directly with the client side and work with data analysts and project managers so it was very important for me to communicate with them regularly and frequently.

I also got the opportunity to work the developers and understand the capabilities of the tool: Tableau in this case while designing the user experience.

Industry knowledge

To design for the insurance industry I had to learn the basics to be able to design for it. Since this was an internal tool, the clients themselves were users, I got proper feedback from them to re-iterate my designs.

Design System

In order to make my work easier and maintain a clean, consistent visual pattern across the screens, creating a design system helped me include changes faster and maintain the visual language.
